Uber is experimenting with letting riders wait longer in exchange for cheaper fares. We all know that uber prices get higher when demand increases. Now company is planning to let customers pay cheaper fares in exchange with waiting time. The company is testing a feature which tells the customers when the fares are expected to get lower.
Quartz spotted an Uber employee’s tweet showing a screenshot of the new feature. That tweet was later deleted. Only Uber employees in San Francisco and Los Angeles currently have access to the feature as part of ongoing testing. If the tests goes well, then the feature will be released publicly.
Even now the company is offering cheaper fares to the customers with express pool where users are asked to walk to a specific location to pick up. It is way cheaper in some cities to take an uber than having a car.
